About Barnfonden

Established in 1990, Barnfonden is an independent, non-governmental, sponsorship organization located in Malmo, Sweden. 

With individual sponsorships and grant funding, Barnfonden assists more than 26,000 children in 24 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Barnfonden provides assistance regardless of the recipient’s political and religious affiliation.

Barnfonden works for the well-being of children by supporting community based programs. Areas of intervention include Health & Sanitation, Nutrition, Education, Early Childhood Development and Micro-enterprise development.

Barnfonden is a member of the Swedish Fundraising Council and is financially audited by “Svensk Insamlingskontroll,” a national organization responsible for reviewing all Swedish non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Mission

Barnfonden´s mission is to provide support to children in need in Africa, Asia and Latin America. We provide support that creates opportunities for children and their families to improve their living standards on their own terms. The support aims to provide for a sustainable development within the community.

Vision

Barnfonden´s vision is a world where children can enjoy their childhood and grow up as healthy and self-reliant individuals with opportunities to influence their own living standards in a safe environment.
